Your Jet Lag Trip Guide
Here is your personal Jetlag Trip Guide. The Jetlag Trip
Guide is based on the latest scientific advances in circadian sleep-wake
physiology and photobiology and will help you to combat jetlag by quickly
resetting your body clock to that of the timezone you're travelling to.
To adjust your body clock you need to control your light environment and
the timing of this is very important. Depending on your journey, you may
need to start after you have arrived at your hotel or, occasionally, while
you are travelling. If you forget to start at the specified time, then
start as soon as you remember and make sure you know when to switch from
seeking bright light to avoiding light and vice versa. Jetlag can be made
worse if the timings are not followed carefully.

Enjoy your trip!
TRIP DETAILS please check your usual wake up time is 7:00, your journey covers 9 time zones.

It's a good idea to reset your watch soon after you take off.
SEEKING BRIGHT LIGHT
When the Trip Guide calls for bright light (frequently this turns out to be after you have arrived) you should
spend time outdoors if possible
as normal indoor lighting or the light coming through a window is not bright enough to reset the biological clock.
(The amount of light you need is about enough to take a photo with a low cost camera without using flash). If
it is dark or overcast out, or the weather is bad, or you are on an aeroplane
you can use the Jetlag Light Visor to provide the necessary light
stimulus. The patented Visor is a comfortable, lightweight head piece
that looks like a tennis visor. Larger

AVOIDING LIGHT
The Trip Guide indicates specific times when exposure to light would be
counter productive. Stay indoors and away from windows if possible during
these times. If you need to go outside at a time the Guide tells you to
avoid light, wear appropriate light blocking glasses that are designed
to reduce light to appropriate levels (normal sunglasses typically are
not dark enough). Take care not to wear them in a situation where the
light level is too low for them to be worn safely. Specially coated Light
Control Glasses come with the Jetlag Combat Kit.
Using the Jetlag Combat Kit and the Trip Guide the traveller can adapt
in 1 or 2 days instead of the usual week or more.
The JETLAG COMBAT KIT
The DeLuxe Jetlag Combat Kit contains a Jetlag Light Visor, Light
Control Glasses, a rechargeable battery pack with charger suitable
for 230V European supply and 110V international supply as well as a holder
for regular alkaline batteries (6 size C included with kit) for a longer
life between charges. The kit comes in a sturdy nylon carrying case and
also includes a booklet with comprehensive advice about jetlag,
and a slide-rule type calculator so you can work out the schedule for
any trip even if you cannot access this site.
For less frequent travellers the Regular Model has a battery holder, where
you can fit regular alkaline batteries (6 size C cells) and does not include
a charger.
Both models use the latest technology pure white solid-state long life
led lamps which are rated to actually deliver light continuously for years.
A specially modified* version is in use on the International Space Station
right now. *(modified because they don't use rechargeable
batteries in space)
